ABSTRACT
Stream ciphers are widely encountered in applications where resources are limited and speed is critical. They come in two flavors: keystream generators and self-synchronizing stream ciphers. However, keystream generators are much more frequent and we only consider this kind of stream ciphers in this chapter.
