ABSTRACT
Globally, telephony infrastructure is rapidly evolving from circuit switching to IP-based packet switching. Therefore, no link is dedicated to a voice call. This is a huge advantage and frees organizations from the costs of leased lines that are wholly dedicated to voice calls and another for data. Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is therefore becoming more common and popular. IP telephony thus is emerging as one of the fastest-growing IP network services.
