ABSTRACT

Hydraulic actuators, linear or rotary, are the primary types of hydraulic power deployment components. The primary function of those actuators is to convert the potential energy, carried by fluid pressure and flow rate, to mechanical power in the forms of force and velocity to drive the load. As one of the most basic power deployment components, hydraulic actuators have evolved into an almost endless array of configurations, sizes, and special designs. The versatility of hydraulic actuators practically grants flexibility in designing innovative hydraulic systems for many applications.
