ABSTRACT

In preceding chapters, authors reviewed the rich theory of spatial point process models and associated inference, including their basic probabilistic structure, first-and secondorder properties, and likelihood structure. In this chapter, we explore how these models, properties, and methods can address specific questions encountered in the field of spatial epidemiology, the study of spatial patterns of disease morbidity and mortality.
