ABSTRACT
Accuracy and reliability are very important in the harsh steel mill environment, lled with steam, water, dust, scale, and heat. This leads to very high requirements for the sensors and systems used in detection, position of edges of steel products on the move, and measurement of temperatures, levels, dimensions, and so on. Therefore, in hot metal detectors and infrared scanners, automatic gain control, adjustable threshold, continuous monitoring of infrared energy, and Bluetooth wireless communication have been developed for ease of use, increased reliability, accuracy, safety and reduced waste, and maintenance. As a leader of sensors and systems providers in the world, ASC (American Sensors Corp.) has applied those advanced technologies to its infrared, laser, microwave, sensor, and systems technologies.
