ABSTRACT
Mujumdar and Menon (1995) as well as Mujumdar (2000) provided detailed classifi cation schemes for industrial dryers along with numerous criteria that are important in making an appropriate selection. It is noted that one should select a drying system-including predrying and postdrying equipment-that can infl uence the choice of the dryer itself as well as its operating conditions. More information on this subject along with detailed information on numerous conventional industrial dryers can be found in the handbook by Mujumdar (2007).
