ABSTRACT
In many longitudinal studies, such as studies on environmental pollution and infectious diseases, measurements of some variables may be subject to a detection limit, i.e., a certain threshold value below or above which the measurements are not quantifiable. In other words, some data are left or right censored, so their values are not observed. In this chapter, we consider mixed effects models for censored longitudinal data.
