ABSTRACT
The Data Bank. The dreaded National Practitioner Data Bank. It was created through Title IV of Public Law 99-660, the Health Care Quality Improvement Act of 1986. The original intent of the Data Bank was to improve the quality of health care by identifying problem practitioners and preventing incompetent physicians and other medical professionals from moving state to state leaving their dirty laundry behind.
