ABSTRACT

I have one client that has a staff of personnel who perform all the shaping and forming of Boeing aircraft frame structures. Everything is done by hand and checked by an employee’s eyes. For two years in a row, they were in the 98 to 99 percent rating by Boeing; during my last visit, I reviewed the discrepancies and found one minor administrative problem, and all other problems were mistakes in drawings by Boeing. They have few computers available to control administrative functions. The technician makes the product that the customer pays for, and the customer does not care where the parts come from, as long as they are correct.
