ABSTRACT

The beliefs cover a broad range. On one hand, hybrids are viewed as just another car but with more computers and more technologies. On the other hand, some service and repair personnel feel intimidated by hybrids. These people feel that hybrids will require considerable effort to master the high voltage, the batteries, the motor/generators, the power electronics, throttle-by-wire, and brake-bywire. These thoughts lead to the necessity of the training of the repair and service technicians.
