ABSTRACT
While nanoelectronics refers to electronic transport and storage phenomena on the nanoscale, “nanoionics” refers-on that same scale-to ionic transport and storage phenomena. At interfaces, and particular in con ned systems, exciting ionic phenomena are observed that indeed justify the use of this term (Maier 2005b).
