ABSTRACT
In the study of quantum mechanics, there are only a very limited number of realistic examples that can be used as illustrations, much to the frustration of undergraduate students. e complexity of solving Schrödinger’s equation o en leads to a necessary simpli cation to one dimension, and one-dimensional structures appear to be minimally realistic.
