ABSTRACT
Nanomaterials have attracted worldwide attention due to their unique properties that di er signi cantly from bulk materials and their potential applications. It is likely that the development of nanoscience and nanotechnology would become a new area of growth for the twenty- rst century’s economy. Hence, investment in research and development in nanoscience and nanotechnology has been continually increased. It is reported that global investment for nanoscience and nanotechnology has come to 124 hundred billion dollars in 2006, with a growth rate of about 13% compared to that in 2005 (Minister of Science and Technology of China, 2008).
