ABSTRACT
Since the beginning of this century, science and engineering has seen a rapid increase in interest for materials at the nanoscale. Nanomaterials have attracted a strong interest because of their physical, electronic, and magnetic properties, which is a result of their small size, and where both surface e ects become dominant and quantum size e ects occur.
