ABSTRACT
The goal of a logistic regression model is to understand a binary or proportional response (dependent variable) on the basis of one or more predictors. For our purposes now, we will exclude discussion of proportional responses or binomial logistic regression models, concentrating instead on binary responses. We shall delay their discussion until Chapter 8, although from time to time we may need to brie y allude to the more general model.
