ABSTRACT
Of the known human copper-containing amine oxidases (CAOs), three are involved in renal physiology and pathology: vascular adhesion protein-1 (VAP-1), diamine oxidase (DAO), and lysyl oxidase (LOX). Furthermore, the activity of plasma semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO) is altered in renal patients.
