ABSTRACT
With most human activities good things happen when the fundamentals are addressed early. Product development is no different. A large mass of data proves that projects are significantly more successful when early work clarifies the big picture of what needs to be done and specifies a reasonably detailed plan for doing it. Establish the big picture, lock down the basics, and you are well on your way to a successful project.
