Introduction

A missing data problem (MDP) refers to one where certain data are really missing, or where the problem itself has no data that are actually missing but can be reformulated as a problem of this type, say by augmenting latent variables whose values are not available. In fact, many statistical problems can be formulated as MDPs (Little & Rubin, 2002).
