ABSTRACT

The closeout activities are conducted during the project closeout phase, but the planning for these activities should be performed along with the planning for the other project activities. The work packages to be performed during the execution phase were listed in the work breakdown structure (WBS) during the planning phase. The activities to be performed to close the project are legitimate work packages that must also be listed in the WBS. The closeout work packages need to be included in the budget, in the schedule, and in the resource plan. The only difference between the usual work packages and the closeout work packages is that the

latter are usually short in duration. Because they are small in duration, one day or less, they have been grouped into seven work packages with subtasks.
