Introduction This chapter describes the practical enactment of the MET framework, which along with its management, form the dynamic aspect of the MET framework. The discussion thus far in this book outlines the framework and provides details of its four dimensions. The “enactment of MET” implies its practical implementation and brings together the theory of transition and the lessons learned from earlier transitions. Availability of the MET framework and its configuration for enactment are significant considerations in mobile transition. An equally important challenge is the practical aspect of carrying out the steps of the MET framework. Enactment synergizes the elements within MET’s four dimensions (discussed in Chapters 3, 4, 5, and 6) as they are executed step by step to bring about the mobile transition. Thus, MET enactment is a project in itself, which not only uses the fundamentals of mobility and its transition discussed thus far but also draws upon the principles and practices of project management, its activities, and its deliverables already available in the project management literature (such as www.pmbok.org, www. pmi.org) for MET.
