ABSTRACT

Despite a good deal of structural/functional data that contrast the classical structurefunction paradigm (see the DisProt database [Sickmeier et al. 2007]), it is surprisingly difficult to give a definition of structural disorder that applies in a variety of theoretical and experimental situations. Because this is the least we can expect from a book dedicated to this subject, we will show that there are several possible ways of defining disorder, none of which is generally agreed upon.
