ABSTRACT

Interface Design An interface, by denition, is the point at which two systems meet and communicate with each other. The focus of this chapter is on the humancomputer interface issues related to menu design, display layout, system navigation, and design of help systems. Input devices are reviewed in depth in Chapter 5, and issues of training and instruction are the focus of Chapter 7. Computer use issues in the context of the workplace, healthcare, transportation, and the home are discussed in Chapters 8 through 11, respectively.
