Fall hazards and exposures can vary widely depending on the type of facility. Some operations that historically involve high potential for falls by visitors, patrons, residents, customers, and employees include the hospitality (lodging), mercantile, theater, and trucking industries. While not a thorough discussion, these proœles attempt to cover the commonly observed conditions contributing to falls. Hazards particular to the food service and healthcare industries are discussed in their respective chapters.
