ABSTRACT

Respect, Responsibility, and Reliability are critical to supply chains, critical to supply chain leaders, and critical to leaders at all levels in any organization.

The 1990s brought us the concept of being disrespected. Although it entered the lexicon via slang, the idea of respect for employees, customers, and leaders is not a new concept. Unfortunately for people at all levels of the organization, the thought process is that respect is deserved without giving respect to others. Respect as a leadership attribute is critical to success in modeling leadership for subordinates to emulate but has to be given in order to be received.
