ABSTRACT

As I discussed in Chapter 2 on the risk assessment process, most CEOs, CFOs, and HR directors may not know all of the risks because some of these risks may not have materialized before. This situation exists for a number of the risks that face businesses and institutions. If good programs are not in place to obtain the information about the risks, the management team may be oblivious to their existence. The following list of prevention and recovery programs outlines the kinds of programs that can be very helpful to determine when new risks have developed or existing risks have increased and how to prevent the problems from escalating. When a problem does occur, as some inevitably will, the right recovery program, one that has been well planned and practiced, can get the company back into operation as quickly as possible.
