ABSTRACT
Th e next two chapters are the heart of this book. Here we try to fi nd an answer to the question that gave rise to the HPP research project in 2004: who are hackers? In the pages that follow, we’ll show you the results of 2 years of reading, analysis, comparisons, and often “confrontations” where the main arguments focus on real-life experience and the stories of the hackers we studied and observed in our attempt to understand.
