When criminal profi ling is mentioned, we often think of scenes from famous fi lms, such as “Th e Silence of the Lambs” or “Th e Bone Collector,” where investigators and criminologists hunt dangerous serial killers who are sowing panic in a spiral of death and suspense. But what is exactly criminal profi ling? What does it consist of, and, more importantly, to what type of crime can it be applied?
