ABSTRACT

Based on our experiences, people who work in the healthcare field are one of the most committed groups to their profession with whom we have had the privilege to work. Many of the observations and candid conclusions in the pages that follow may give the reader the impression that this is not true. However, the comparisons presented between the industrial culture decades ago and healthcare today are meant to help the two communities come together in the interest of learning for the betterment of the entire healthcare industry and especially all of us as patients. The impediments will be explored that are imposed on the healthcare community by their unique form of communication.
