ABSTRACT
Data-mining and knowledge discovery have now become a very active research eld, while rough set theory (RST) has been successfully applied to knowledge acquisition as a powerful tool for data reasoning, decision analysis and forecast, knowledge discovery from database, and expert system and decision support system. Because of high complementary between RST and other soft technologies, including grey system, articial neural networks, probability and statistics, and fuzzy set theory, we can integrate the advantages of RST with other theories related to soft technologies and build a more powerful hybrid method of soft decision-making. erefore, we can broaden the scope of RST application and provide a wide range of scientic and standard methods for decision-making under uncertain conditions.
