ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we summarize important recent contributions in the field of temporal data mining with applications to medical data. Many of these techniques, however, can be applied to other types of data as well. Temporal data mining in medicine has many important applications, such as disease detection, patient progress evaluation, and workflow optimization.
