Agriculture has long been considered the basis of the national economy in China. Historically, China’s agricultural production and cultural development were closely related to the development of irrigation. The irrigation history in China can be traced back to 4000 years. The world-renowned Dujiangyan irrigation system was built 2250 years ago and still irrigates over 330,000 hectares (ha) of rice [1].
