ABSTRACT

Infrared (IR) radiation is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that is predominantly responsible for the heating effect of the sun (Ranjan et al., 2002). IR radiation wavelengths (0.76-1000 μm) are found in the region of wavelength between visible light and radio waves and can be divided into three different categories: near-infrared radiation (NIR; wavelength, 0.76-2 μm), mid-infrared radiation (MIR; wavelength, 2-4 μm), and far-infrared radiation (FIR; wavelength, 4-1000 μm; Sepulveda and Barbosa-Canovas, 2003).
