ABSTRACT
Avocado belongs to family Lauraceae and has chromosome number 2n = 24. Avocado is an evergreen tree with a short trunk, large branches, and a shallow root system. Leaves are simple, ovate, and spirally arranged. In florescence is compact and axillary with numerous yellow flowers. Flowers are perfect, protogynous, and fragrant. Fruit is a fleshy berry, pyriform or globose, and yellowish green to purple in color. Flesh has a butterlike taste and is yellow in color. Seeds are large, globose, single, and whitish or pink in color.
