ABSTRACT
Lean is another methodology for solving business process problems. Like Six Sigma, it also arose out of the manufacturing world, where problems are visible and “in your face.” Lean is focused on the elimination of waste, rigorously defined in the Lean world as anything that does not add value to the final product or service. When we look at the details of this later, we will see that most of what your business does is waste. In fact, in a typical business, around 99 percent of everything that is done will fall into the waste category. is can be very scary for the workforce who is being introduced to Lean! Lean can be considered a tool to make an operation more efficient, by driving waste out of it.
