Doors, Frames, and Hardware*

The door scope of work includes doors, frames and hardware. This work is traditionally bid by and awarded to a single subcontractor on private projects, but will likely include multiple subcontractors on public works projects. On a public works project, various bidders will submit bids for the various doors, frames and hardware components and due to public bidding laws the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for each component must be awarded the contract. This means different subcontracts may be awarded for steel doors, hollow metal frames, wood doors, door hardware, and specialty doors.
