ABSTRACT

For simple interior renovations, also termed tenant improvement projects, sufficient time may not be available to procure the coiling doors prior to walls being erected. This is unlike new construction where the general contractor and coiling door subcontractor will have ample time during the structural phase to make arrangements to acquire these doors and store them in the area of installation before any walls are constructed. On tenant improvement projects in particular, the general contractor must clearly address this time issue in the coiling door bid package. The coiling door subcontractor must be held financially accountable for meeting the scheduled deadline.
