ABSTRACT

Through extensive experience perfecting their trade and by routinely providing quality products, the operations of casework subcontractors have emerged as a predominantly design-build effort. Architects will typically specify a performance criterion for the casework subcontractors to bid. The casework subcontractors will then develop the completed design and execute the work. Their means and methods are rarely questioned, and these subcontractors are frequently sought for advice by architects and general contractors during the design phase of a project. Casework subcontractors have established a reputation of intelligence and competence which has resulted in architects and general contractors placing a high level of confidence in them.
