ABSTRACT
A. Air handling units with variable air volume (VAN) terminal boxes are standard on many non-residential construction projects (Figure 40.1). This type of system includes a hydronic boiler system that is provided by the HVAC subcontractor. The plumbing subcontractor will provide only a single point of connection for supply water to this system, i.e., the HVAC subcontractors have their own pipe fitters (Figure 40.2).
