ABSTRACT
In this chapter we give a few examples of the use of MATLAB in analysis and calculations in the frequency domain. We explain the notion of signal and introduce the reader to the representation of signals, their decomposition in the frequency domain and the notion of power spectrum. We end the chapter by an example of Bode diagram, a helpful tool in the analysis and design of control systems. The treatment employs the basic MATLAB software, with the exception of one simple example in which we call two functions belonging to the Signal Processing Toolbox.
