It is common practice for medical device developers and manufac turers to use contract suppliers for special processing, testing, and distribution of product. There are contract sterilization services for ethylene oxide and radiation sterilization of final products, con tract testing laboratories, contract manufacturers of components or subassemblies, contract clinical testing organizations, contract installation and servicing, contract packaging, and contract distri bution centers.
