ABSTRACT

The Standard Model-perhaps the most complete theory ever developed-gives us a full description of the known building blocks of matter, the particles, and forces that make up the universe. It describes, with uncanny accuracy, the way these particles and forces shape our world. But the Standard Model is not yet the nal answer. Although, it successfully unies the electromagnetic and weak forces into the single electroweak force, it still hasn’t been able to take the next step, the grand unication of the three non-gravitational forces. The brave attempt at a grand unied theory by Glashow and Georgi has not stood up to newer and more accurate observations.
