ABSTRACT
Although there are many a-adrenergic blocking agents, very few are encountered as an overdose. The ergot alka loids were the first adrenergic blocking drugs to be investigated. The reason for the therapeutic use of these alkaloids in medicine today, though, is unrelated to a blockade (1).
