ABSTRACT
The use of depressant compounds is as old as the use of alcohol, which is the oldest of the depressant agents. In earlier days, alcohol was held to be a remedy for practi cally all diseases and problems. Since then, many com pounds other than alcohol have been manufactured for many of the same effects.
