ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with the principles of mode locking in ›ber ring lasers and then the analyses and some simulation results of the generation of ultrashort pulses from mode-locked ›ber lasers (MLFLs), which form the bases for the following chapters on the experimental generation of pulse sequences.
