ABSTRACT
Basically, the general background on software quality assurance as software engineering itself is formulated. The following definition is the classical Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) description of software engineering (Marciniak 1994, p. 1177): “Software engineering is the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software; that is, the application of engineering to software.”
