ABSTRACT
Hypothesis: The incorporation of DHA cardiolipin in mitochondrial membranes increases energy output and enables extremes in physiology, including ight of hummingbirds, fast heartbeats of small mammals, rattle muscles of snakes, swimming by cold-water shes, and long migratory ights of birds.
