ABSTRACT

In the last chapter, we discussed how Lean HR can help you develop and implement your organization’s business strategies and the corresponding people strategies. This chapter provides a framework for helping you develop and implement a desired culture for your organization, which is one of the most powerful ways HR can support an organization’s business objectives. Part of what makes culture a powerful place for HR to contribute to the organization’s success is that it is rooted in the organization’s values, which are based on the emotional energies of your people, which drive behaviors whether they be success-oriented or not. This chapter describes both a continuous improvement culture and a general approach for customizing cultural elements against your organization’s long-term objectives.
