ABSTRACT
In this book we have examined a number of algorithms, structures, and systems for coping with vast amounts of information. We are currently in the exabyte era and entering the era of the zettabyte and beyond. Current IP networking trends include peer-to-peer (P2P), Internet broadcast, both Internet and commercial video-on-demand (VoD), and high-definition content. These trends contribute to the load on the network and require new solutions to keep the network cost efficient and manageable.
