ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with the wastes generated during the different processing steps for fuel ethanol production. The inuence of the feedstock is recognized by the type of wastes produced. Main methods for the treatment of stillage (the major polluting efuent of all ethanol production processes) are discussed. In addition, the environmental issues related to the overall fuel ethanol production process are highlighted emphasizing some methodologies for assessment of its environmental performance.
