ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the top enhancements Oracle has introduced in versions Oracle 11g and 10g from an embedded language programming perspective, as well as those that are useful from the overall solution standpoint. These new features include better exception handling, code design improvements, performance-related improvements (database and code), and new declarative PL/SQL API. Whenever possible, code snippets are provided for implementing these concepts. The use of these features in application architecture and coding will optimize your Oracle-based embedded programming solution in terms of productivity and efficiency.
